Greek state budget records primary surplus of 838 mln euros in Jan-Feb

Greek state budget recorded a primary surplus of 838 million euros in the January-February period, from 2.0 billion in the corresponding period last year, the Bank of Greece said on Monday.

The central bank, in a report on budget execution on a cash basis, said that in January-February 2019, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of 380 million euros, compared to a surplus of 843 million in the same period of 2018. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to 7,409 million euros, compared to 8,216 million in the corresponding period of last year.

Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to 7,973 million euros, from 7,265 million in January-February 2018.
